Here is another of those photos that I have been struggling with. No story of getting stuck or of tides coming in accompany this one - just a struggle to get to the look I was aiming for!
Fyffe Shire Rock is found in the bay area of Nelson and I guess it is as iconic as Shag Rock (now Shag Pile) is in Christchurch by the suburb of Sumner.
I captured this image of the rock from the main road heading around between Nelson township and Tahunanui. We had travelled past this feature numerous times but it wasn't until this evening that I was fortunate to have the background hills covered in cloud preventing any distraction in my image. I even love the effect of the cloud in place of the hills of Kaiteriteri.
A number of techniques have been applied to this photograph - part of the reason it has taken so long to emerge, I suspect. It's always interesting to try new things and see where the journey leads you.
I hope you like this image as much as I do!
